Also I was glad I was right about her brothers lover!

Connor is a dick 😅 and I’m hoping her removes that stick from his butt as we progress. Also glad while the main storyline isn’t even shown until later, that we had a nice ending to the side one

This is the first book in the Legacy Series and I got to listen to the audio book. The narrator started off shaky for me but within the first quarter, I was pulled into this book and the voices for each character was easy to follow at my sped-up listening. I will be starting the next audiobook today.

The world Maddox Grey created drew me in. I love that it contains multiple universes, witches, warlocks, shifters, fae, demons, and some Greek gods. I quickly became invested in Nemain's life and enjoyed having a FMC that was not a teenager or even young adult. I really enjoyed how we got the backstory throughout the story and the twists that came along the way.

There wasn't a ton of spice in this book, though what it had was spicy. If you're looking for a good read or a great audiobook, pick-up A Shift in Shadows.

This is such a unique urban fantasy story! I love Nemain’s journey through trauma and coming into her power. It’s just the tip of the iceberg!!

Such an underrated urban fantasy series, but I have a feeling it’s going to be one of my new favorites.

🐈‍⬛ interesting world and magic system and creatures
🐈‍⬛ queernormative world
🐈‍⬛ spice 🌶️
🐈‍⬛ some closure at the end with enough mystery and set up to make me want to jump right in to book 2
